Well, here we go! I have started a blog. I know, I know…everyone and their dog has a blog these days so consider me a bandwagon-jumper-oner (however late to game I may be!).
If you’re a follower of The Wild Knoll instagram account you probably already know that I have quite a passion for natural handmade toys and dolls, and while instagram is a great platform for sharing pictures of what I make, I wanted to be able to offer more opportunities for others to create as well. My aim for this little blog is to share what inspires me to make the things I do, how I make them and to hopefully inspire others to do the same!
Toy and doll making has been such a creative blessing for me the past few years and I really feel as though I have found my artistic niche. I have largely been inspired by the natural simplicity of Waldorf education and we strive to live by the philosophies of Rudolf Steiner in our home. I’ll be the first one to admit that it isn’t always easy, and that many online sources such as blogs have been hugely helpful resources along our journey, so now I feel like it’s time to start giving back to this community by providing some of our insights and, especially, toy making tutorials!
Without too much more blabbering I am going to introduce the next blog post which will be a tutorial for making a Felt Dragon Plush toy. I have designed this dragon myself and the pattern is available for purchase in my Etsy shop, along with my latest collection of handmade Pixie Fawn dolls.
Thanks for stopping by and, as always, Happy Crafting!
-Jess
